Trasmed, the Grimaldi Group shipping line, operates overnight crossings on ferries fitted with cabins. The electronic locks accept both digital keys on the phone and physical cards — but a large number of passengers reach boarding without a digital key and need to collect their access card.
That caused delays and crowding during boarding, as many passengers requested their key once already on board.
