MedPlaya Hotels is a hotel chain specialising in the holiday sector, with more than 17 properties. With guests arriving eager to start their holidays, the chain set out to optimise the pre check-in process and improve the arrival experience.
The goal: make online check-in as easy as possible, so guests could pay, identify themselves by scanning their ID document and sign before arriving at the hotel — and start enjoying their holidays without delays at reception.
The project had three clear requirements:
- Configurability and flexibility: the tool had to adapt to the particularities of each property and to the regulations of each country.
- Fast, easy rollout: a solution that could be replicated quickly across the chain, supporting simultaneous deployment in multiple hotels.
- Usability: easy to use for both the MedPlaya team and the guests, so that anyone could complete check-in from their phone without complications.

Since 2023, MedPlaya has deployed Roommatik’s online check-in across all its properties.
Online Check-in
The guest receives an email with a direct link to their online check-in — no need to look up their booking. With just a couple of clicks they open the platform on their phone and complete the process in a few minutes.
Scanning the ID document or passport is part of the process itself, speeding up identity verification so that arrival at the hotel is simple and efficient.
